Ethiopia Guji Dogo Sodu

This is a washed coffee from the Guji region of Ethiopia. Like most washed coffees from that region it's bright, clean, and so so floral. White tea leads and stays through the finish, jasmine sits just behind it, and there's a little lemon at the edges. The notes come out best when brewed as a pourover.
The coffee comes from the Dogo Sodu washing station in Guji's Bule Hora district, run by Morkata Shonora, who takes in cherry from the small family garden plots around it at roughly 2,000 meters. The trees are a mix of local landraces - Badessa, Wolichu, Kudhume - and the numbered Ethiopian selections, grown under shade. Cherries are sorted by hand, fermented for two to three days, washed, and dried on raised beds for a couple of weeks with someone turning them the whole time.
This is a rotating lot and likely to be short lived.
